I was a mentor for campus ministry called Disciples On Campus. We are a non-denominational campus ministry that desires to reach out to others and invite them to have a relationship with God if they wish. We have several events such as on campus bible discussions and devotionals.
We have also been involved in many community service projects such as banquets for the homeless and charity basketball games designed to raise money for children overseas. Every year our campus ministry goes to a homeless shelter in downtown Roanoke to serve families in need. We cook all of the meals and every bible discussion group is in charge of making desserts and placemats. We call it a banquet because we stay and eat and speak to those living in the shelter. As a co-leader of this organization, I also serve as a mentor to young women. Due to being in this role I have learned what it means to be compassionate and purposeful when it comes to meeting needs.
